No dog, cool and overcast, a couple of chases, no squirrels in bag

Arnold the dog didn't eat his breakfast, so I left him home. He was feeling a little puny. Besides, I was not that optimistic about the prospect of seeing many squirrels. It was sloppy, windy, cool, and wet outside. So I simplified things.

Cisco and I did our best without Arnold. At one point Cisco drifted north of the main path. He was gone so long that I started to go back for my receiver. Cisco showed up before I did and we continued to hunt. His closest call was a squirrel that was low, not surprising with the dog's absence.

Eating a chick

Warm, with a couple of chicks in the crop
